Long Term Care
Medicare and health insurance does not cover LTC expenses.
Long-term care encompasses a wide range of personal, social, and medical services and support. It is designed to help individuals with, or at risk of, significant declines in their physical or mental capacity maintain their basic rights and human dignity. LTC is delivered over extended periods by informal caregivers (family, friends, or community members) or formal caregivers (professionals).
Formal long-term care strives to prevent, reduce, or rehabilitate functional decline and can be provided in various settings, including home care, community-based care, residential care, or hospital care.
